FAQs
What is counselling/therapy and how can it help?
Counselling offers a confidential space to explore what you’re going through, understand your emotions, and find healthier ways to cope. It can support you with stress, anxiety, low mood, relationships, trauma, identity, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Do I need a diagnosis to access therapy?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to access support through SACS. If you’re struggling emotionally or mentally, that’s enough reason to reach out.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is confidential. The only exceptions are situations where there is serious risk of harm to you or someone else—this will always be explained clearly and sensitively.
Is therapy culturally sensitive?
Yes. SACS was created to support South Asian communities in a way that respects culture, identity, faith, and lived experience. We understand the impact of stigma, family expectations, and community pressures—and we hold space for all of it without judgement.
How many sessions can I have?
This depends on your needs and what feels right for you. Some people benefit from short-term focused support, while others prefer longer-term therapy.
What issues do you support with?
We support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, family conflict, stress, confidence, and identity-related challenges.
What languages is therapy available in?
SACS offers counselling and therapy in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. If you have a preferred language, please let us know when booking and we will do our best to match you with the most suitable therapist.
How do I get started?
You can contact us through our booking/enquiry form. We’ll respond to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and guide you through the next step.
Do you offer affordable or funded sessions?

Can I choose a therapist I feel comfortable with?
We will always do our best to match you with a therapist who suits your needs, preferences and availability.
What happens in the first session?
Your first session is a safe space to talk things through at your pace. You won’t be forced to share anything you’re not ready to. The therapist will help you feel settled, understand your goals, and talk you through how sessions will work.
