Building Confidence and Managing Anxiety
Scottish Asian Counselling Services delivered an Anxiety Workshop for young girls at Al Meezan, creating a safe and supportive space for open discussion around emotional wellbeing. The students were highly engaged and openly shared their experiences of anxiety, particularly around school, expectations, and everyday pressures. Through guided discussion and age-appropriate psychoeducation, the girls explored what anxiety is, how it shows up in the body and mind and practical strategies for managing it.
A key outcome of the workshop was the strong sense of connection within the group. The girls listened to one another with empathy, shared coping ideas, and learned that they were not alone in how they felt. This helped reduce shame, build confidence and normalise conversations around mental health. We are grateful to Al Meezan for the opportunity to work together. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening mental wellbeing and building resilience within young people and the wider community.
