Strengthening Professional Community
Scottish Asian Counselling Services hosted a networking event for South Asian therapists, creating a dedicated space for connection, reflection and mutual support. The event highlighted the importance of bringing practitioners together in environments where shared cultural understanding is recognised and valued. Participants engaged in meaningful conversations, built new professional connections and shared experiences that often go unheard in wider professional spaces.
A key outcome of the event was a strong sense of encouragement and belonging. Many attendees reflected on how valuable it was to be in a room with others who understood the cultural and systemic challenges faced by South Asian therapists, and how this sense of community helped reduce isolation and foster confidence. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the space so open and supportive. The conversations and connections formed reinforced the need for ongoing outreach initiatives that nurture professional wellbeing and collective growth. We remain committed to continuing this journey together.
